Forget Me Not Days June 6, 2015
I was out collecting money for the Alzheimer's Association again this year on Forget Me Not Days. I'm always amazed by the generosity of people when I ask them to help through a donation. Just about everyone donates money, and many share personal experiences with dementia. This volunteer experience is always a good reminder for me that there are so many of us in this fight to end Alzheimer's together!
Memory Loss Conference November 22, 2014
The 19th Annual Memory Loss Conference in Springfield, Illinois is coming up for the general public on November 22, 2014. This is a great event for family, friends and caregivers of those afflicted with Alzheimer’s disease. Sadly, I never went to this conference until after my mother passed away because I felt I was too busy. When I finally did go, I learned many things, some of which could have helped me to interact and engage better with my mother. I’d highly recommend this conference to anyone who wants to learn useful tips about living with dementia and caring for someone with dementia. The cost is minimal and well worth the investment – $25 before October 31 and $30 after for the Saturday-only sessions.
